"Unnecessary quotes"
martha-ann-murphy:

… imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking, ‘This is an interesting world I find myself in - an interesting hole I find myself in - fits me rather neatly, doesn’t it? In fact it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!’ This is such a powerful idea that as the sun rises in the sky and the air heats up and as, gradually, the puddle gets smaller and smaller, it’s still frantically hanging on to the notion that everything’s going to be alright, because this world was meant to have him in it, was built to have him in it; so the moment he disappears catches him rather by surprise.  Douglas Adams

Some times paper is the only thing that will listen and I write because there is a voice within me that will not be still.
I have a voice. Dare to dream. Bloom.

Auburn University 2010-2011
My mother always told me that I looked horrible in orange. she said that I was too pale to wear orange, that it washed me out, and if I really wanted to come across as flamboyant and obnoxious, then by all I should go ahead and wear orange. Though at the time I was oblivious to the meaning of these two words, I concluded from the demeaning sarcasm in her voice that it was in my best interest to stay away from all things orange.
Oddly enough I have most recently found myself in an overwhelmingly orange environment. And I will be the first to say that it has all in all been a challenge. I have had to accept the fact that I AM different. I realized that I may never parade across a stadium of people waving an orange flag, nor will I probably ever stroll the campus in an orange  sundress and matching heals with a following of my closest sorority sisters, but that is not to say that I will judge or condemn those who do. I like to think of orange not as something material that I have to buy in to and conform to, but rather as a stage, a transition if you will, a right of passage. Orange is a journey. College is a journey. It is a unique color will ever changing hues and undertones. It is a sunset, intense and painfully bright at times but a inevitably destined to fade and transform into something serene and peaceful . As for me I like the color orange am vibrant and unconventional, slightly less aggressive than the intensity of red, and possessing the cheerful attributes of a glowing yellow.
I am one in 24,000 and I posses the power to give meaning to my surroundings, uncover a voice within myself, and speak my own truth. I have the ability to embody orange and wear it proudly, basking in the light of all that I am. And with time and patience I will know I will eventually become whole, complete, and with the purpose and abilities to be a part of something bigger than myself to ultimately fulfill my own potential. Orange. Burning. Bright. warm. Real. Sunrise. Sunset. Every moment. Everyday. To be or not to be…me.
